Flamengo secures gold and silver medals in the Artistic Swimming Figures Tournament
Selection for the Rio team was also held during the championship
By Flamengo Communication - inFlamengo's artistic swimming athletes entered the pool in competitions for the first time in the 2018 season this weekend. On Saturday (17), the teams from the Children's and Youth categories competed in the Figures Tournament and secured medals for the Most Beloved. Ana Clara de Almeida won gold in the Children's Level A category, with 57.3704 points, making it a red-and-black double on the podium alongside Nicole Shinohara, who took second place with a score of 53.2639. In the Youth category, another silver medal for Flamengo, with 67.8922 points from Jaddy Milla Passos.
Held in the pools of the Tijuca Tennis Club, the Figures Tournament concluded with the tryouts for the Rio de Janeiro Junior Artistic Swimming team, for athletes aged 11 to 14. Another victory for Ana Clara and Nicole, who earned two of the nine spots on the team and will now represent Rio de Janeiro in national competitions.
The synchronized swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
