Since last week, the Brazilian Synchronized Swimming team has been participating in an International Clinic, endorsed by the Brazilian Aquatic Sports Confederation. Of the athletes selected to be part of the green and yellow team, seven represent Flamengo. Among the Clinic's training sessions is the new free duet choreography. Six girls are competing for three spots to represent Brazil in the next World Championships, to be held in July in Spain. Four of them are Flamengo fans: Giovana Stephan, Lorena Molinos, Jéssica Noutel, and Beatriz Regly. This week, the Clinic's training sessions are taking place in the Gávea pools.

The six girls are divided into two duets, each with a reserve. The athletes' choreography is overseen by French coach Stephan Miermont. He was the head coach of the United States team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He is also a choreographer for the renowned Cirque du Soleil and has created choreographies for the following national teams: Italy, England, Greece, South Korea, Czech Republic, China, Japan, and France.

The two duos will perform the same choreography at the Brazil Syncro Open, which will be held in June in Rio de Janeiro. The team that achieves the highest ranking in the competition will represent Brazil at the World Championships in Spain.

One of the duets is made up of senior athletes: Giovana Stephan (FLA) and Lorena Molinos (FLA), with Jésica Noutel (FLA) as the reserve. The other is made up of junior girls: Luisa (FLU) and Maria Eduarda (FLU), with Beatriz Regly (FLA) as the alternate. Both teams will compete in the Free Duet category. In addition to Giovana Stephan, Lorena Molinos, Jésica Noutel, and Beatriz Regly, athletes Aline Vieira, Daniela Figueiredo, and Gabriela Figueiredo also play for Flamengo and compete for the Brazilian National Team.
