Guaranteed to be at Rio-2016, Maria Clara Lobo and Lorena Molinos will be present at the COB event

The red-and-black Maria Clara Lobo and Lorena Molinos, who will represent the Brazilian synchronized swimming team at Rio-2016, participated in a Team Brazil integration meeting last Friday (22), at the headquarters of the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB), in Rio de Janeiro. The girls received valuable tips from Olympic medalists Giba and Shelda, in addition to interacting with athletes from other sports who will represent Team Brazil.
The event featured nearly 60 athletes who qualified for the Games and aimed to inform the COB's preparations for the Brazilian Mission, as well as promote an exchange of experiences among the athletes. On the Olympic immersion day, the athletes participated in lectures and presentations on the COB's Mission for the Games, the Olympic Village, the Brazil Team Space, logistics, transportation, exclusive training and support areas for Brazil Team, uniforms, ceremonies, and other topics. In addition to synchronized swimming, athletes from swimming, boxing, diving, shooting, marathon swimming, rowing, trampoline gymnastics, and canoe slalom also participated.
The athletes also participated in a panel with Giba - Olympic volleyball champion in Athens 2004 and silver medalist in Beijing 2008 and London 2012 - and Shelda - silver medalist in beach volleyball in Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004. The former athletes talked about their Olympic participation, what can happen around the athlete during the Games, and opportunities and precautions that everyone should take before, during, and even after the Games.
According to the COB, there are two more meetings like this scheduled before the Games, in addition to two meetings planned until August, which will be held directly at the bases of some sports with a large number of athletes, such as volleyball, basketball and handball, among others.
Swimming and rowing represented
Also at the event were swimmer Luiz Altamir and rower Fernanda Nunes, which are also guaranteed at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
The synchronized swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo receive funding from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, and EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR). The renovation of the Gávea Olympic pool is supported by investments from Lafarge and Ambev via the State Sports Incentive Law/State Secretariat of Sports, Leisure and Youth (ICMS), in addition to funds from the Agnelo Piva Law/Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC).
