The 18-year-old red-and-black swimmer Maria Clara Lobo represented the Brazilian National Team and the "Mais Querido" at the World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary. The young woman, who also competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics, made her debut performing duet and solo, and achieved excellent results in her second World Championships.

 

The red-and-black swimmer spoke about her experience in the competition.

 

"The World Championships are the biggest event in aquatic sports. It's incredible to be among the best in the world. It was my second World Championships, my debut doing duet and solo, and the results were very good. It's the beginning of a new cycle, and this experience has made me even more excited," said the swimmer.

 

Maria Clara, who has been at Mais Querido for seven years, has reached the podium in every Brazilian championship since 2013, and has won titles with the National Team, such as the South American Absolute, in 2016.

The synchronized swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
