Maria Clara Lobo entered the pool once again this Tuesday (05), in Cochabamba, Bolivia, to present her routine in the Free Duet of the South American Games. With 82.1 points, the red-black athlete came first in the event, alongside Luisa Borges. The result guaranteed the silver medal for the duo, after achieving second place in the Technical Duet on the first day of artistic swimming competitions, last Sunday (03), with 80.470 points. 

For the Brazilian national team, the athletes scored a total of 162.5704, trailing only Colombia, which scored 164.0329 points and took the overall title. Roberta Perillier, coach of the Mais Querido team, led the Brazilian team in the competition. 

At 19 years old and with an extensive resume, which includes participation in the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2017 World Championships, Maria Clara Lobo grew up in the Gávea pools. In March of this year, the red-and-black athlete was named the best artistic swimming athlete of the past season, receiving the Brazilian Olympic Award.
