Maria Clara Lobo goes to the Pan American Games
Rubro-negra was called up to replace a member cut from the national team for medical reasons.

On the afternoon of this Monday (06.07), the red-black Maria Clara Lobo, athlete of the technical team of synchronized swimming of Mais Querido, was called in a hurry to replace Pâmela Nogueira, cut for medical reasons from the Brazilian delegation that is in Canada for the Pan American Games Toronto-2015. With this unexpected call, she joins Lorena Molinos in the competition and increases the number of Flamengo representatives in the Pan.
Born in 1998 in Rio de Janeiro, Maria Clara joined the club in 2010, winning three South American titles and finishing as a Pan American runner-up in the Youth category. She joined the Senior National Team in 2014 and has reached the podium at the Brazilian, Spanish, French, Japanese, and German Opens, as well as the FINA Cup and the South American Championship. Brazilian Synchronized Swimming debuts in Toronto on Thursday (July 09th) with the Technical Duet Routines (theme: Capoeira) and Team Routines (theme: motorcycles, rock). Two days later, the competition concludes with the presentation of the Free Duet Routines (Brazilian theme: Amazon, depicting animals) and Team Routines (theme: Carnival).
The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo Synchronized Swimming teams receive funding from their sponsors—Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, and EY—via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR). The renovation of the Gávea Olympic-sized swimming pool is supported by investments from Lafarge and Ambev via the State Sports Incentive Law/State Secretariat of Sports, Leisure, and Youth (ICMS), in addition to funds from the Agnelo Piva Law/Brazilian Confederation of Clubs. You can also contribute by becoming a Rubro-Negro Guardian Angel. Simply transfer up to 6% of your IR due and receive your contribution back in your income tax refund.
