Even with the pandemic, Flamengo's artistic swimming continues. This Saturday (May 08.05), teams from juniors to seniors will participate in the FARJ Tournament for Mandatory Figures and Duet Elements. Due to restrictions, the competition will be held online, starting at 9 a.m. A total of 23 athletes from the club will be competing for the best scores.
In this competition, unlike choreographies, the routines are performed in individual events and stops, without moving around the pool. Therefore, technical assessment is highly required.
"My expectation is to achieve good results in all the events, as well as in the first tournament held virtually in March by FARJ, in which we won first place in all the categories we participated in," said Jéssica Noutel, coach of the senior team.
The Most Beloved will be represented by six athletes in the senior category, six in the junior category, nine in the youth category and two in the children's category.
The artistic swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
