Flamengo's Maria Clara Lobo and Beatriz Regly defeated eleven other pairs to become Brazilian junior level A synchronized duet swimming champions with a choreography inspired by the film "Rio." The championship took place this Sunday (November 06.11) at the Júlio de Lamare Aquatic Park and brought together girls aged 13 to 15 from clubs across Brazil. Flamengo finished second overall (335 points), behind Paineiras do Morumby – SP (453). The bronze medal went to Tijuca Tênis Clube (326 points).
In addition to the duet, Flamengo also had a significant result on the floor. With the X-Men routine, swimmer Maria Clara Lobo had the second-highest score among the 12 Brazilian athletes (147,036) who performed and took silver. The insect routine, which took the Gávea club to the top of the podium in the State Team Championship, finished fourth and did not reach the podium.
Next weekend (11 and 12.11), Flamengo will compete in the Brazilian children's championship in Brasília, in the solo categories, with Karina Castro, and duet, with Gabriela Regly and Jullya Feillesce.
