Four athletes pre-selected for the Junior Team
Maria Clara Lobo, Luisa Muzbeck Pinto, Gabriela Regly and Júlia Saggese may participate in the World Championship in this category in 2014
By Communication - Official Club Website - inFour athletes from the Red-Black Junior synchronized swimming team have been pre-selected by the Brazilian Aquatic Sports Confederation (CBDA) for selection in the category. Maria Clara Lobo, Luisa Muzbeck Pinto, Gabriela Regly and Júlia Saggese Campos are expected to participate in the Junior World Championships in Finland in October of this year.
Since the team's training and coaching staff have not yet been determined, the girls will face a cut when the chosen coach takes over the Brazilian national team. Of the 14 pre-selected athletes, 12 will remain. The official call-up is scheduled for the second half of 2014. Roberta Perillier, the girls' coach at Flamengo, believes in the potential of the athletes, who were Brazilian champions in 2013.
"These athletes are excellent. Gabriela, the youngest, was the Brazilian duet champion with Maria Clara and Luisa last year. Maria Clara and Beatriz, despite being juniors, have already been pre-selected for the Brazilian Senior National Team and begin training on January 13th. Júlia has already participated in a Junior World Championship; the 2014 one could be her second," praised the coach.
