In the early hours of this Monday (15), Renan Alcântara and Giovana Stephan won 7th place in the final of the World Aquatics Championships. In Gwangju, South Korea, the Brazilian mixed duo equaled the result of 2015, when they made history in the sport.

With 79.4495 points, the red-and-black duo repeated their position in the qualifying round of the mixed technical duet. The event is not yet on the official Pan American and Olympic Games program.

"It's a huge responsibility to represent Brazil, especially in a World Cup final. This is our second swim together, and I'm thrilled. I felt Giovana by my side the entire swim, and we achieved everything we set out to improve from the qualifying round to the final. We managed to improve our score, and I'm thrilled," celebrated Renan.

The athletes will return to action next Thursday (18), at 23 pm, in the mixed free duet qualifiers.
