With each passing year, the hard work put into the club's Olympic sports has been paying off, yielding many positive results for the club. Artistic swimming is no exception. Flamengo won several medals in the various competitions held this year and, in addition, provided a total of 13 athletes throughout the season to represent the Brazilian Junior and Senior National Teams in international championships. 

Coach of Mais Querido and the Brazilian National Team, Roberta Perillier listed the titles and medals won by our athletes so far in 2018.

"With Flamengo, we won the State Technical Routine Championship in the Beginner, Children's, Youth, Junior, and Senior categories, with nine gold medals, three silver medals, and two bronze medals. At the São Paulo Open, we won four gold medals and two silver medals, competing only in the solo, duet, and mixed duet events in the Children's, Junior, and Senior categories," said the coach.

The Brazilian national team was well represented, sending four athletes to the Junior category and nine to the Senior category. Beta also analyzed the performance of his players representing the country in international competitions.

"In May, athlete Maria Clara Lobo and I were called up to compete in the South American Games in Bolivia, where we won silver in the women's duet event. In August, we sent eight athletes to compete in the Pan American Championships in the United States and won seven medals in the seven events we competed in: three gold, three silver, and one bronze. Now, we're training for the South American Games in Lima, Peru, where we have nine athletes selected," said the commander.

Roberta Perillier concluded by explaining the importance of having several athletes called up and the feeling of representing Brazil in competitions.

"I believe that being part of the Brazilian National Team is the dream of any athlete and coach who strives for high-performance sports, as this is the only way we can achieve the most important international championships in the world of sports, such as the South American, Pan American, Olympic, and World Championships. Defending our country is always a source of pride and honor. We, from Flamengo's artistic swimming team, strive to achieve this goal because we believe that, by doing so, we will be able to achieve technical standards of excellence in our training."
