Flamengo coach Roberta Perillier is back at the helm of the Brazilian artistic swimming team. After three years leading the Junior and Youth teams and three years dedicated exclusively to Flamengo, Beta returns to the senior team for the 2018 season. 

A multiple champion for Mais Querido and with over twenty years at the club, Beta's career with the Brazilian national team is also long. Her first appearance with the national team was in 1999, as an assistant coach at the Junior World Championships in Cali, where she finished 6th. 

Since then, leading the senior team, he has won five South American titles, four Pan American bronze medals, and placed 5th at the 4 Beijing Olympics with the duet. In 13, he achieved his best result with the senior team at the Melbourne World Championships, placing 2008th in the free team, 2007th in the combined event, and reaching the final in the free duet. The opportunity to relive glorious moments with the Brazilian team was enthusiastically received.

"I'm really motivated to return to the national team after six years away from the senior team. During that time, I had the opportunity to work with the Brazilian Youth and Junior teams, and those were wonderful experiences, full of learning, but I already wanted to return to the senior category, and 2018 gave me this gift," says the coach.

Now, Beta takes on the mission of leading the team at this year's South American Games and on the road to the 2019 Pan American Games. 

"We have a huge challenge ahead of us, not only the technical aspect itself, which will be the search for the Pan-American medal, but also the general sporting challenge we are facing due to our country's financial situation," he comments.

If all these years with the national team aren't enough to make Beta feel at home, the presence of ten athletes from the Mais Querido certainly will. Gabriela Regly, Giovana Stephan, Jaddy Milla, Juliana Damico, Jullia Catharino, Laura Micucci, Lorena Molinos, Maria Clara Lobo, Maria Eduarda Micucci, and Renan Alcântara have been called up and, alongside their coach, represent Flamengo on the Brazilian artistic swimming team.
