In total, six Mais Querido athletes represented the national team
By Romulo Paranhos - inWith the presence of six athletes from Flamengo, Brazilian artistic swimming ended its participation in the Pan American Games in Lima. Gabriela Regly, Jullia Catharino, Giovana Stephan, Lorena Molinos, Maria Eduarda Miccuci and Laura Miccuci were the representatives of Mais Querido in the modality, which ended this Wednesday (31).
On the first day of artistic swimming competitions, the Brazilian women entered the pool for the Technical Routines. In the Duet event, Laura Muccuci and her partner Luisa Borges placed fourth with 80.4881 points. In the Team event, which featured the participation of the red-and-blacks Gabriela Regly, Giovana Stephan, Lorena Molinos, and Maria Eduarda Miccuci, Brazil also placed fourth (80.3928 points), behind Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
In the Free Routine event, Luisa and Laura returned to the water and finished fourth overall. Despite not reaching the podium, the Brazilian duo maintained a strong performance throughout the competition. Overall, they reached a mark of 162.2214.
The artistic swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
