Rubro-negras qualify for the Brazilian Junior and Senior Artistic Swimming Teams
In total, twelve Mais Querido athletes will make up the national teams in the 2020 season.
By Romulo Paranhos - inFlamengo's artistic swimming athletes performed well at the National Trials, held this weekend at the Maria Lenk Aquatic Park in Rio de Janeiro. In total, twelve Flamengo athletes have qualified to join the Brazilian National Teams in the sport for the 2020 season, eight in the Senior category and four in the Junior category.
Marina Valadão, coach of the Mais Querido teams, highlighted the positive results during the year and the athletes' qualification for the national teams next year.
"I believe we ended 2018 with a bang. After a marathon of consecutive competitions, including the most important of the season (State Championship, Argentina Open, and Brazilian Championship), we managed to qualify eight athletes for the Senior category and four for the Junior category. I'm very happy with our team's performance," said the coach.

The artistic swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
