Rubro-negros win two gold medals with the Brazilian National Team at the South American Championship
From Mais Querido, Maria Clara Lobo also took silver in the Free Routine
By Romulo Paranhos - inAt the South American Artistic Swimming Championships, held between October 31st and November 3rd in Lima, Peru, the Brazilian National Team won three medals and, in addition, secured a spot at the 2019 Pan American Games. The Brazilian Mixed Duet, formed by the red-and-blacks Giovana Stephan and Renan Alcântara, won gold, as did the Combo team in the Free Routine. Maria Clara Lobo, also from Mais Querido, won the silver medal in the Free Routine Duet (81,9000), alongside Luísa Borges.
In a comic book-themed performance, the Combo team was made up of ten Brazilians, including Maria Clara Lobo, Laura Micucci, Lorena Molinos, Maria Eduarda Micucci, Giovana Stephan, and Jullia Catharino. The green and yellow team scored 82,0000 points to win the title, with Colombia (79,5000) taking silver and Chile (76,4000) taking bronze.
The Brazilian national team was the overall champion of the tournament. In the team competition, Brazil finished with a Free Routine performance, which, combined with the performances of both routines, earned the Brazilian team 161,6393 points in the competition. Colombia and Argentina completed the podium in second and third place, respectively.
It is worth remembering that the red-black coach, Roberta Perillier, was one of the coaches responsible for leading the Brazilian team to this great achievement.
