Rubro-negros win four medals at the French Open artistic swimming competition
In total, the Brazilian team secured one gold, one silver and two bronze medals in the first stage of the FINA World Series

Last weekend, Brazil won four medals at the French Open, the first stage of the FINA World Series, held in Paris, France. In total, the national team secured one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.
In the Combined Routine event, the Brazilian team wowed the judges with their performance and took home the gold medal, totaling 83.4333 points. Great Britain and Israel completed the podium, securing silver and bronze, respectively. Flamengo was represented by Giovana Stephan, Maria Clara Lobo, Laura Miccuci, Lorena Molinos, Maria Eduarda Miccuci, and Gabriela Regly. In the Free Team competition, Brazil took silver, totaling 83.8000 points with a strong performance by the red-and-black athletes. In the Mixed Duet, formed by Renan Alcântara and Giovana Stephan of Mais Querido, the duo scored 76.8835 points and took bronze.
On the Official Website, Roberta Perillier, coach of Flamengo and the Brazilian National Team, analyzed the team's performance in the tournament.
"The competition was excellent. It's very important to kick off the year by participating in a championship of this level, remembering that we have the World Championships and Pan American Games ahead. It allowed us to see how far we're on the right or wrong path, so we can correct what's necessary. We were very pleasantly surprised by reaching the podium and winning a gold medal, a first for Brazil in this tournament. Furthermore, we made a good impression on the international panel of judges," said Beta, who also commented on the participation of the red-and-black athletes.
"It's fantastic to have seven of our club's athletes on the Brazilian National Team participating in such an important championship, giving us the experience of representing the country. I think it also encourages the youth teams to see that, with hard work and dedication, we can get there and achieve impressive and significant results. The team is incredibly motivated to move forward, and it's important to thank Flamengo for their support, as well as the support of Olympic Sports in general, manager Edson Terra and Izabel Miranda, and CUIDAR, who are always believing and committed, understanding how great it is to have athletes and coaches on the National Team. This is helping us evolve, so much so that we're winning medals on the international stage. It's truly something to applaud," he added.
The red-and-black Giovana Stephan, who forms the Mixed Duet with Renan Alcântara, also spoke about this first international challenge of the year.
"We had a strong debut this season. We were closely watched by other countries, and they praised our work. We returned with four medals and plenty of energy to continue growing and improving our performance, with many new ideas and following global trends of faster, more expressive choreography," said the Mais Querido athlete. "The mixed duet is a strong event for Brazil. We're growing internationally, and this competition showed our potential for even greater growth. With a job well done, we have everything we need to become a leading duet among the best in the world championship."
In the Technical Team event, Brazil came in 4th place, while in the Free and Technical Duets, with the red-black Maria Clara Lobo, accompanied by Luísa Borges, the country finished in 7th place.
The artistic swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
