The "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved) continues to provide athletes for the Brazilian National Team, and synchronized swimming was no exception. Of the five athletes selected, four are part of the red-and-black teams. Maria Eduarda Miccuci, Maria Clara Coutinho, Giovana Stephan, and Renan Alcântara are part of the Brazilian delegation that will travel to Budapest, Hungary, to compete for the title at the World Aquatics Championships from July 14th to 31st.

The national team will compete in three categories: solo, women's duet, and mixed duet. All five selected athletes were part of the Brazilian team at the last World Cup, held in Kazan two years ago.

Maria Clara Coutinho, who was part of the Brazilian team at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, spoke about her expectations for the World Championships. "I'm really looking forward to competing in Budapest. I've always wanted to be part of the duet and train during the Olympic cycle. At the World Championships, I'm already competing as a starter, which makes me very happy and fulfilled. I'll also compete solo, and despite being young, I already want to make history with unprecedented results," said the athlete.

"It's the biggest aquatic sports championship and my debut in these events, I'm very focused on reaching all the finals," added Maria Clara, highlighting the importance of the World Aquatics Championships.
