Last Saturday (01), the red-black athletes participated in the 2nd Phase of the National Artistic Swimming Selection, held at the Maria Lenk Aquatic Park (RJ). In total, the seven swimmers from Mais Querido had a great performance and guaranteed their place in the Brazilian Junior and Senior Selections of the modality, which will compete in international competitions throughout the 2020 season.

Manuela Menezes and Maria Luiza Fonseca remain on the Brazilian Junior team, while Gabriela Regly, Vitória Casale, and Bernardo Silva are currently guaranteed spots on the Senior team. Jullia Catharino and Jaddy Portela will be on both teams.

After the results were announced, Jullia analyzed her performance in another qualifying stage of the competition.

"I did very well in the evaluation, and I was very pleased with my performance at the beginning of the season. I kept all my spots, both on the Junior Team, where I'll be going to the World Championships in Quebec, Canada, competing in the Solo, Duet, Team, and Highlight events, and on the Senior Team, which will compete in the South American Championships in Argentina. I'm very excited; I believe this will be a very important year for me. I'll have the opportunity to once again compete internationally for both teams, learning and evolving even more," said the athlete.

It is worth mentioning that there will still be a final phase of the National Selection to define which athletes will be truly guaranteed to be on the Brazilian teams during the year.

The artistic swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
