It didn't work out for her. Mariana Brochado, the Brazilian swimming icon, is out of the Beijing Olympics. The athlete had a chance to secure a spot in the 200m and 400m freestyle events during the Maria Lenk Trophy.
But, unfortunately, some opponents surpassed the red-black team, which only managed 4th place in the “B” final of the 400m freestyle, with a time of 4'29”89.
Once again, despite all her effort, determination, and dedication, Mariana finds herself out of the world's biggest sporting competition. Now, the swimming star must reevaluate her career.
- "I'm very disappointed. It's very frustrating to get here after so much sacrifice and not reach the goal."
