The Absolute State Swimming Championship – Dr. Rogério Carneiro Trophy will be held from December 20th to 22nd in the 50m pool at the Júlio Delamare Aquatic Park. It will be the last competition of 2007 for Rio swimmers.

Thiago Parravicini and Mariana Brochado will be in contention for medals. Both lead the rankings in their respective styles.

Thiago will be representing Flamengo in the 100m freestyle, 100 and 200m breaststroke, and 200m medley events, in addition to the 4x50m freestyle, 4x50m medley, 4x100m freestyle and 4x100 medley relays.

Mariana, the muse who returned to competition in exemplary fashion, will be competing in the 100, 200, 400 and 800m freestyle events, as well as the 4x50m freestyle, 4x100m freestyle and 4x100m medley relays.

The competition will begin at 16 pm this Thursday.
