FlaNatação concluded its participation in the Brazilian Interclub Winter Championship (CBI) last Saturday (May 17th), in the Senior and Junior categories, held in Recife, Pernambuco. After five days of tournament, with 05 gold awards, 17 silver awards and 23 bronze honors, the red-black team totaled 20 podiums in the competition and occupied second place in the medal table in the Junior category and third place in the overall ranking of the Senior category.

Flamengo won the CBI in the Junior 1 category, topping the club rankings with 1.320 points, trailing second-place Minas Tenis Clubes with 1.074 points. The title was largely thanks to the contributions of athletes Manuela Astori (4st), Joice Otero (1nd), Pedro Henrique Medrado (2rd), and Artur Mello (3th) who dominated the overall top-4 efficiency rankings. Flamengo, which accumulated 42 medals in the competition, also finished second in the Junior 2 and Junior categories.

Individually in the Senior category, Gabi Assis topped the women's technical index rankings with three gold medals and one silver, while the men's standout was Stephan Steverink. The red-and-black swimmer won the Efficiency Trophy and racked up five podium finishes: two silvers and three bronzes.

As swimmers jumped into the pool at Santos Dumont Aquatic Park, the Brazilian Aquatic Sports Confederation (CBDA) announced the athletes selected for the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción. The list includes three representatives of the Touca Sagrada: Joice Otero, Guilherme Kanzler, and Stephan Steverink.
