Flamengo was crowned champion of the second round of the Farj Top 16 Swim Meet, held last weekend at the Botafogo pool. Flamengo scored 2.924,50 points, surpassing the scores of Botafogo and Tijuca, who finished second and third, respectively.
A highlight is Thiago Parravicini (pictured), a top athlete from Clube da Gávea. He achieved a technical index in the 200m breaststroke, his specialty, and an efficiency index (the sum of the four events he competed in – 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke, and 200m individual medley).
Marcela Amar, also a CRFlamengo athlete, had already achieved the technical index in the 200m butterfly, in the first stage of the competition, held at the Fadel Fadel Aquatic Park.
Mariana Brochado, the eternal swimming icon, competed in and won the 200m freestyle. In the 400m freestyle, she finished second.
The Farj Top 16 Swim Meet is a state-level competition, and featured a total of 51 CRFlamengo swimmers in this II Round.
