The fourth day of the Maria Lenk Trophy was again marked by two more medals for Flamengo. Gabi Assis shone, winning her third gold medal, this time in the 200m breaststroke, confirming her absolute dominance in the category. The Flamengo athlete had already won the 50m and 100m breaststroke events, capping her participation with a perfect performance in the breaststroke events.

Despite her excellent performance, Gabi came very close to reaching World Championship qualification. Still, she celebrated her achievements and strengthened her bond with the club:

"When the competition started, I had some goals, which were to win these three medals for Mengo. Unfortunately, I didn't achieve that, but I managed to leave with three gold medals for Flamengo, the club where I train every day."

The swimmer also commented on the feeling of belonging to Rubro-Negro:

"Yesterday I was asked if I'm from Rio. I'm not, I'm from São Paulo, but I'm here in this pool every day. I think I'm the person who sweats the most, who fights the hardest here. This pool is my home. When I say I'm swimming at home, it's because I really feel that way: I belong to Flamengo."

Stephan Steverink also returned to the podium, winning his fourth medal of the competition. In the 800m freestyle, Stephan posted the fourth-fastest time overall, but with two foreign athletes on the podium, Steverink secured the silver medal, being the second-best Brazilian in the competition.

"I swam the 800m, defended my place, and won the silver medal. I'm very happy and excited; we still have two more days of competition. This is my fourth medal here. Let's go for more."

In addition to individual highlights, Flamengo also had strong results in the relay events. In both the men's and women's events, the red-and-black team finished fourth in the 4x200m freestyle relay, reinforcing the team's competitiveness and strength in team events.

The team remains steadfast in its fight for more medals and good results in the coming days of the Maria Lenk Trophy.
