FlaNatação is back at the top of Brazil's Junior Championship after two and a half decades! This Saturday (30), our Touca Sagrada representatives shone in Uberlândia and concluded the fifth day of Brazilian Junior Championship competitions with the category title. With this result, Flamengo also returns to the top of the national rankings.

The competition was dominated by the red-and-black team. They won an incredible 49 medals, 16 more than the second-place team, including 28 gold, 18 more than the next-place team, 13 silver, and 8 bronze. The "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved) earned 2.429 points in total and was the clear champion of the category, leaving no doubt.

Edson Terra, the club's water sports manager, spoke about the red-and-black victory.

"These results are the culmination of the immense dedication of everyone involved over the past few years: athletes, coaching staff, directors, vice president, and Olympic sports director. We were able to execute what was planned, and the results came with this breaking of a twenty-five-year taboo—putting Flamengo once again at the top of the national rankings."

Individually, Paulo Marcelo de Jesus and Joice Otero won the competition's technical index and efficiency trophies, in the Youth 1 and 2 categories, respectively. Thaynara Lago and Pedro Henrique Medrado also took the efficiency prize, in the Youth 1 and 2 categories, once again.

"It was also great that we achieved this result with a team that was smaller in terms of numbers, but with tremendous quality. We achieved a much higher number of medals than other clubs, which had more athletes. Flamengo organized itself to assemble a top team that went there and showed its power. This is a group that we envision in the medium and long term, with athletes at the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028 and later in 2032," concluded Edson.

Now, FlaNatação is preparing to defend the Junior and Senior titles in the Brazilian Championships in the category, starting on December 10th, in Laranjeiras.
