Highly inspired and motivated, young swimmer Thiago Parravicini broke a new record in the 100m breaststroke at the Brazilian Junior Winter Swimming Championships – 24th Tancredo Neves Trophy. The achievement took place this Saturday, June 2nd, in the third and final stage of the competition, held at the Júlio de Lamare Aquatic Park in Maracanã.

A breaststroke specialist, Thiago had already secured the record in the 200m breaststroke during the first stage on Friday, with a time of 1:2.

With the best technical index of the competition in the 100m breaststroke, with a time of 1'03"20, the red-black team surpassed the old championship record (1'03"76), which had been held by Felipe Lima since 2003.

The Brazilian Junior Championship was held between June 1st and 3rd, with the participation of 323 athletes from 64 national Clubs.

Flamengo, which holds five Brazilian titles in the category, finished in 4th place, with 137 points.
