Espírito Santo reinforcements make a difference in the State Swimming Championships

Flamengo had three important reinforcements, which made a difference in the final count of the Winter Swimming State Championship.

Flamengo won gold (senior), silver (junior), and bronze (youth) at the State Winter Swimming Championships, which are for the youth, junior, and senior categories. The competition, held from June 29th to July 06st, was held in the 1m pool at Olaria Atlético Clube, with the participation of Rio's top clubs.

On that occasion, the red-black team had three reinforcements from Espírito Santo who train in Vila Velha (ES), under the command of coach Leonardo Miglinas.

Marcos Paulo Amorim (Juvenile 2), Isabela Alves (Senior), and Ângelo Galter (Senior) were the standouts from Espírito Santo. The team also included Marcelle Lopes, the South American record holder in the 200m breaststroke, who sat out the competition due to physical therapy.

There were six medals in the individual competition and five in the relays, totaling 11 medals for the three athletes from Espírito Santo in the competition.
