Stephan takes the podium for the fifth time at Maria Lenk

On the fifth and penultimate day of competition, the red-black athlete wins another bronze medal

This Friday (25) the penultimate day of the Maria Lenk Trophy took place. Flamengo came to the pool with six athletes: Gabrielle Assis, Stephan Steverink, Joice Otero, Betina Braga, Pedro Butcher and Arthur Mello.


The podium of the night went to Stephan Steverink, who won his fifth medal in the competition. This time in the 200-meter individual medley, the red-and-black swimmer clocked 02:01:37 and secured the bronze.


"Third place in this event, which is one of my favorite events. It's a very good event here in Brazil. I'm very happy to be swimming representing Flamengo here and achieving one of the best times of my life," he said.


In addition to the podium, Joice Otero excelled in the 200-meter butterfly with a time of 02:15:87 and came very close to winning another medal for Flamengo, finishing fourth. In the men's race, Pedro Butcher finished fifth with a time of 01:59:25.


The Maria Lenk Trophy competitions continue until tomorrow (26), with free entry for the Nation. 


During the Maria Lenk Trophy 2025, the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo Swimming Team will have resources from its supporters Estácio and Instituto YDUQS, in addition to support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
