The Brazilian women's water polo team, which leaves this Wednesday (13/2) for Imperia, Italy, where it will compete in the Pre-Olympic tournament for the sport, already knows who its opponents will be in the competition, which features teams such as Germany, Puerto Rico and Italy.

Brazil, which is fighting for a spot in the Beijing Olympics, is in Group A and will face Germany in the first round on the 17th. There are only four spots remaining in Beijing, so a flawless performance will be crucial for Brazil's qualification for the Games.

The Brazilian national team boasts the tenacity of three red-and-black players, along with Antonio Canetti as Roberto Chiappini's assistant coach. Marina Canetti, Carolina Mello, and Luíza Jordy, recently called up to replace the Paineiras player who requested a leave of absence, will represent the red-and-black team on the national team.

With their bags packed and full of confidence, the Brazilians are heading to Italy this Wednesday, keeping alive the hope of securing Brazil's place at the biggest celebration in world sport.
