The Fadel Fadel Aquatic Park, at the Gávea headquarters, hosted the Brazilian Youth Men's Water Polo Championship, held until this Sunday (9/9), with the participation of nine teams; Flamengo, Fluminense, Botafogo, Tijuca, Pinheiros, Paineiras do Morumby, Paulistano, Jundiaiense and A Hebraica.

Clube de Regatas do Flamengo was crowned champion, after defeating its strongest rivals in style.

The red-and-black team, led by coaches Antonio Canetti and Solon dos Santos, reached the final after defeating Tijuca (5-4), Jundiaiense (18-4), and Hebraica (21-3). The grand and hard-fought final was against the strong Pinheiros team. A 7-6 victory went to Flamengo, who honored the colors of the flag at home.

Flamengo had the best defense in the championship, with 28 goals (an average of 4,66 per match). In attack, Flamengo came in second with a total of 62 goals (an average of 10,33 per match). Paineiras came in first with a total of 60 goals (an average of 12 per match).
