Flamengo won the opening match of the Brazilian Junior Men's and Women's Water Polo Championship. In a match held at the Fadel Fadel Aquatic Park, in Gávea, the red-blacks defeated Botafogo by a score of 12 to 4 (3 x 1 / 0 x 2 / 5 x 0 / 4 x 1). Flamengo's goals were scored by Marcela (4), Diana (3), Sofia (3) and Loise (2).

In the men's competition, the Gávea team beat Tijuca 9-8 (2 x 0 / 1 x 3 / 4 x 4 / 2 x 1). The match, which was very competitive, had as highlights the players Iágaro (3), Douglas (3), Nicolas (2) and Vitinho (1).

Flamengo's next opponent in the men's competition will be Pinheiros. The match will be held on Saturday (April 19th) at 4:18 pm at the Paineiras pool in São Paulo.
