Even though they didn't win a medal and finished the competition in 4th place, Flamengo stood out in the Brazilian Junior Men's Water Polo Championship.

Flamengo players Heitor Carrulo and Pedro Dela Roque were the top scorer and goalkeeper with the fewest goals conceded, respectively, in the competition, which featured eight Brazilian clubs. Heitor Carrulo scored a total of 16 goals.

The Brazilian Junior Championship, which was won by the Pinheiros team, was held in the Fadel Fadel Aquatic Park pool, at the CRF headquarters, between May 18th and 20th.

Flamengo, the 2006 champion, fought for the bronze medal, but ended up being defeated by Fluminense 9-6.
