Flamengo entered as one of the favorites to win the title of five-time Brazilian champion in the category, but unfortunately, they finished third in the Brazilian Children's and Youth Water Polo Championship.

The competition was held in the pool at Tijuca Tennis Club, which took second place. The champion was Esporte Clube Pinheiros, from São Paulo.

Iágaro (pictured), the red-and-black's standout player in the competition, was the top scorer in this Brazilian Championship, with 25 goals. The players responsible for the victory over Jundiaiense were Vitor (4), Iágaro (3), Lukas (1), Felipe (1), and Matheus (1).

The match between Flamengo and Jundiaiense was thrilling and well-contested until the end. But the semifinal match between Flamengo and Pinheiros was the most electrifying and worthy of a final. According to coach Sólon, Flamengo, down a man, kept pace with their opponent, who closed the score at 6-5 with four seconds remaining.
