Flamengo debuted in the Brazilian Youth Water Polo Championship with a rout over Guanabara. With the final score at 22-0 (4-0 / 7-0 / 4-0 / 7-0), the red-and-black team came out ahead of the other opponents.

The first round of the competition was held on Thursday night (25/10), in the Tijuca Tennis Club pool. Flamengo's goals were scored by Iágaro (10), Lucas (3), Vítor (3), Gabriel (2), Nicolas (2), Daniel and Matheus.

The results of the other matches in the first round were as follows: Tijuca 8 x 7 Fluminense; Pinheiros 9 x 3 Jundiaiense; Paineiras 10 x 8 Paulistano.
