The first meeting of the year took place last Thursday. The 15 girls selected by the coaching staff, six of whom were from CRFlamengo, held their first training sessions as members of the Brazilian junior national team in the Paineiras do Morumby pool in São Paulo.

Carolina Mello, Mariana Fernandes, Sofia Bittencour, Karinna Fracassi, Luisa Jordy and Marina Zablith are the representatives of CRFlamengo in the junior team, which will also have the presence of the red-black Cecília and Manuela Canetti, who are training with the adult team for the Rio-2007 Pan American Games. Both will join the team after the XV Pan American Games.

The 7th Women's Junior World Championship will be held from July 23rd to 29th in Porto, Portugal. Brazil is in Group C, along with the national teams of Italy, Canada, and New Zealand.

The Brazilians' first opponent will be Canada, followed by Italy and New Zealand. Brazil will be led by Flamengo's Antonio Canetti and Frank Almora Diaz.
