Flamengo started the Brazilian Youth Water Polo Cup with a deficit. The competition is being held at the Bolão Aquatic Park in Jundiaí, São Paulo, with eight teams participating: four from Rio de Janeiro and four from São Paulo. Competitions continue until Sunday, July 1st.
The first opponent of the red-black team, which is led by coach Solon dos Santos, was Paulistano, who beat Flamengo 9-8.
Still today, at 17 pm, the team from Gávea will face Tijuca in a tight match between Rio de Janeiro teams.
Flamengo is fighting for its second consecutive championship. In 2006, Flamengo won the title at home, beating Botafogo on penalties.
