The João Havelange Water Polo Trophy – 2nd stage of the Brazilian Men's Absolute Championship, has already been confirmed by the CBDA (Brazilian Confederation of Aquatic Sports). Competitions will begin this Friday (30/11) at the Rio de Janeiro Naval School.
Fluminense finished its participation in the Brazil-Correios Trophy, valid for the first stage of the men's competition, in 1st place. CRFlamengo finished 1th.
The João Havelange Trophy will feature the participation of the top six finishers in the Brazil Trophy, contested until 18/11.
In the matches valid for the quarter-finals of the João Havelange Trophy, which will begin this Friday, with the duels between Paulistano x Guanabara, at 20 pm, and Botafogo x Flamengo, at 21:10 pm, the opponents of Pinheiros (game between Paulistano and Guanabara) and Fluminense (game between Botafogo and Flamengo) for the semi-finals will be defined.
Fluminense and Pinheiros, 1st and 2nd placed respectively, are already guaranteed a place in the semi-final, scheduled for Saturday morning (1/12).
In the women's competition, CRFlamengo finished in 2nd place, after suffering a defeat to Pinheiros, who won their third championship.
