The first Regatta of the 2008 State Rowing Championship will be held this Sunday (6/4), starting at 9 am, at Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, with a total of 12 races.

Still in a celebratory mood, after winning the second Rio de Janeiro championship (2006/2007), last Sunday (30/3), CRFlamengo wants to maintain the rhythm to start ahead of its rivals and guarantee first place.

Once again, Flamengo will be counting on the tenacity of one of the people responsible for winning the 2008 title. Francisco Ramon, who competed in and won the Dois Com event, valid for the 2nd Regatta of 2007 and held last week, will be at the bow of the Oito Com boat. It is worth remembering that Ramon, commanded by coach Marcos Amorim, is a product of the Remo na Escola Project.

The 2008 State Championship, which includes the participation of Rio's main Clubs, will have a total of eight Regattas.
