Two weeks after winning the Brazilian Short Boat Championship in São Paulo, Flamengo returned to the water for the first regatta of the State Rowing Championship. This time, the venue was the traditional Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, and the result was the same: Flamengo dominance.

Under the sun that shone over Rio de Janeiro on the morning of this Saturday (14), our Macaquinho Sagrado champions climbed the podium 14 times in 12 events, totaling seven gold medals, three silver and four bronze.

FlaRemo's Head Coach, Mauro Oliveira, highlighted the work done by the team and praised the athletes' performance at the opening of the competition.

“The first regatta is always very difficult, but we have worked hard to put Flamengo at an even higher level than we were already at. The result is completely satisfactory. We went through important changes, overcame obstacles, but we faced everything with a lot of work and dedication. We were Brazilian champions two weeks ago in São Paulo, and now we have taken a very important first step towards another state championship. Now it's about maintaining focus, because the results will appear throughout the season. As the president says: the goal is to be champions of everything,” he concluded.
