Vasco da Gama came out on top and won the Eight With – Debut event, valid for the 4th Regatta of the 2007 State Rowing Championship. Despite the determination of the red-black crew, the Cruzmaltino won the victory with a one-boat difference.

With this morning's result, Flamengo, who were in the lead with a one-point advantage, are now behind their arch-rivals again, with a three-point difference, 259 x 256.

Now, Flamengo must await a decision from the hearing scheduled for January 18th regarding the Dois Com race, valid for the 2nd Regatta and currently under review. Due to a registration error, Vasco da Gama competed in the race with a rower not listed on the list of registered participants. As a result, CRFlamengo filed a lawsuit to invalidate the race.

If the disqualification of the Dois Com boat is confirmed, Clube de Regatas do Flamengo will be officially declared the 2007 state champion, with a one-point advantage over Vasco.
