The Brazilian Rowing Confederation (CBR) has announced the list of athletes selected to represent Brazil in the South American Championship and the Junior Pan American Pre-Swimming Championship. The competitions will be held in Asunción, Paraguay, from March 17th to 26th, bringing together the best rowers on the continent. Flamengo, by far, was the club with the most athletes selected to join the squad.

For the South American Championship, eleven athletes from Mais Querido were called up: Daniel Rocha, Sebastian Solari, Evaldo Becker, Jennifer de Almeida, Lara Pizarro, Lorrayne Lane, Mariana Funari, Pedro Correa, Pedro Xavier, Isabelle Falck and Joice Emily. Five rowers from the red-and-black team will be in action for the Pre-Pan American Championship: Ana Julia Ferreira, Jennifer da Silva, Kayki da Rocha, Lara Pizarro and Maria do Carmo.

The excellent number of players selected reflects Flamengo's ongoing work in the sport, solidifying its position as one of the leading development centers for Brazilian rowing. Ronaldo de Carvalho, president of the Flamengo rowing committee, commented on the significance of the event.

"The call-up was extremely satisfying. The atmosphere within the club is very good, among the athletes and coaching staff—all of this helps a lot. The importance of these competitions is to measure how we compare to other South American countries. To see how much we've evolved and how we're getting closer to the top of the continent. It's incredibly important to see how we'll perform in competitions of this magnitude. It's the beginning of a really great project," he concluded.
