The two largest and most traditional Rowing Clubs in Rio de Janeiro were involved in a real duel during the exciting competitions of the 2007 State Rowing Championship, which will be decided after a hearing scheduled for the 18th.

With the exception of the Children's category, which saw the Campos Rowing Association (ANNFR) finish second, Clube de Regatas do Flamengo and Vasco da Gama shared the top spots on the podium. Had Campos not finished second, Flamengo and Vasco would have dominated all the categories below, making this a first for a state championship:
