A highlight was the 4 Sem Junior A crew (pictured), recently crowned Brazilian champions in this category, who, with great determination, overcame their opponents this Sunday. Flamengo achieved a double in two events that also deserve mention: Four Skiff Master C and Single Skiff Junior B. The red-and-black rowers honored the colors of the Clube da Gávea flag by crossing the finish line in first and second place in both events.
This Sunday's victory came at an excellent time for the Flamengo Club. This Monday, the 22nd, Guilherme Augusto do Eirado Silva, known as Buck, would have turned 80. Buck was responsible for the club's glorious rowing victories in the 80s and 90s, and he made his mark on the history of the sport that gave birth to Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, Brazil's Most Beloved.
