FlaRemo representatives win two gold medals at the World Cup in Varese, Italy

The club had athletes in Olympic and Paralympic events at the opening of the international season

Flamengo kicked off the international rowing season with a bang. Between June 13th and 15th, Flamengo athletes represented their national teams in the Varese, Italy, leg of the Rowing World Cup, achieving impressive results. The standout performances included Felipe Kluver, who secured the gold medal in the lightweight single sculls, and the Paralympic duo of Gessyca Guerra and Michel Pessanha, who won the PR2 mixed double sculls.

In para rowing, Diana Barcelos also made it to the podium, winning bronze in the PR3 mixed double sculls. Beatriz Tavares won the single sculls Final B and finished seventh overall, while Luciano Garcia finished third in the single sculls Final C.

Marcelo Freitas, Flamengo's Water Sports Manager, celebrated the results. "We started the international competition season on the right foot. We took several athletes to Italy to represent their countries. Kluver had an exceptional result, as did Bia Tavares and Luciano Garcia. Our para-rowing team excelled: Gessyca Guerra, Michel Pessanha, and Diana Barcelos represented our colors with excellence. We're going for much more," he stated.
