Duly dressed in uniform, Leila and Sandra performed this Wednesday, in the Rogério Steinberg auditorium, alongside Flamengo's Vice President of Olympic Sports Patrícia Amorim and coach Letícia Pessoa.

The duo that will represent CRFlamengo during the stages of the Banco do Brasil Beach Volleyball Circuit, between February 14th and 17th, embarks this Thursday (14/2), at 8 am, for Rio Grande do Sul.

Both emphasized the joy and importance of representing a club as great as Flamengo. "I already know the strength of the fans, and I can say that I'm used to it, and that it's great. Flamengo is like a home for me, where I experienced days of glory. I'm very grateful for the support of Flamengo and Patrícia Amorim, who has done an impeccable job for the Olympic sports," said Leila.

For Sandra Pires, a lifelong Flamengo fan, it will be a new experience. "Being a Flamengo fan made my move easier, and I can't deny it. I donned the armband to compete in Rainha da Praia without imagining the impact it would have. Now I know our fan base will double in size."

For Patrícia Amorim, celebrating her birthday today, the arrival of the duo and a new modality for the club's Olympic sports will be extremely important in the club's current Olympic cycle: "We have top athletes in all sports. We have to invest, demonstrate our quality and our ambition to always be among the best in Brazil and even the world."

A Brazilian champion with Flamengo in 2000/2001, Leila says she's happy about the duo's reunion. "Sandra was my first beach partner, right after I left Flamengo. It took me a while to adapt to the sun and the heat, but I had to go through this experience to be fully prepared and ready today."

Leila and Sandra train daily on Leblon beach, near Posto 11, under the watchful eye of coach Letícia Pessoa and physical trainer Ricardo Inocêncio.
