Flamengo debuted with a victory in the Rio de Janeiro Volleyball Cup, in the adult category. The red-and-black team, led by coach Arly Cunha, defeated Tijuca, its first opponent in the competition, 3 sets to 0. The match took place this Sunday, May 27th.

Flamengo is in Group A, along with teams from Niterói, Tijuca, and Volta Redonda. Group B includes Celso Lisboa, Macaé, Botafogo, and Campos.

The red-and-black team's next challenge will be on June 3rd, against Volta Redonda. The match will be at 15 pm, on the Volta Redonda court, in southern Rio de Janeiro.

The women's class is also competing in the Copa Rio and plays against Quissamã, at 15 pm, on Saturday (3/06), in Quissamã.
