Flamengo is defeated by Sorocaba and says goodbye to Superliga B

On Wednesday night (19), Flamengo went to the interior of São Paulo to face Sorocaba and ended up being defeated by 3 sets to 2, with partial scores of 19-25, 25-17, 25-21, 27-29 and 15-08. With the result, the red-black team, made up of young players from the U-21, says goodbye to the Superliga B.

Flamengo started the first set with great intensity, demonstrating its rhythm right away. With precise serving and well-adjusted blocking, the red-and-black team dominated the early stages and managed to secure their lead. Remaining steadfast, exploiting their opponent's openings, Flamengo closed the set 25-19.

In the second set, the story was different. Sorocaba found its feet, adjusted its strategy, and began to control the action. With a solid defense, it left no room for Flamengo to react. Unable to maintain the same pace as the previous set, Mengão saw Sorocaba open up a healthy lead and close the set at 25-17, tying the score.

The third set was evenly matched, with both teams trading points in a tight duel. Flamengo once again displayed a strong game, trying to regain control, but Sorocaba maintained its consistency and capitalized on the decisive moments. With accurate attacks and a well-positioned defense, the opposing team managed to open a small lead late in the set and closed it out at 25-21, turning the game around.

In the fourth set, Sorocaba started strong, opening a healthy lead midway through the set. However, Flamengo showed strength and grew throughout the set, managing to even the score. In the final moments, Mengão saved five match points and turned the game around, closing the set at 29-27 and sending the match to a tiebreak.

In the deciding set, Flamengo fought until the end, trying to keep their chances alive. However, Sorocaba capitalized on their opportunities and, with more efficient play in the decisive moments, closed the tiebreak 15-8, securing the victory.

With the 3-2 defeat and the setback in the first game of the series, Flamengo says goodbye to the Superliga B. Despite the elimination, the campaign served as a valuable learning experience for the Mengão U-21 girls.
