The match featured thrilling twists and turns, highlighted by Maria Clara's decisive performance in the third set and Flamengo's resilience in the tiebreak.
The match started evenly, with both teams exchanging points. However, in the final stretch of the first set, Irati managed to open up a lead, closing it out at 25-19.
In the second set, Flamengo came back with a more aggressive stance and dominated the set, opening up a 10-point lead (22-12). Despite Irati's reaction after a timeout, the Rubro-Negro secured a draw in the match by closing the set at 25-18.
The third set was similar to the first, with constant exchanges of points. Irati opened up a lead, but Flamengo fought back and tied the set at 22-22. With a decisive block from Maria Clara and a precise start, Mengão turned the score around and closed at 25-22, taking the lead.
In the fourth set, Irati started better and opened up a lead. Flamengo came back to 25-24 and had chances to close out the match, but failed to capitalize. The visiting team held on and, after a tight battle, closed it out at 30-28, sending the decision to a tiebreak.
The deciding set started tensely, with confusion right on the first point after the referee called a goal in Irati's favor. Flamengo, however, remained focused and came back to win 4-2. Their opponents leveled the score and tied the score at 5-5, making the final stretch even more exciting. Neither team could gain an advantage until, with an attack from Irati, Flamengo sealed the set and the match: 3 sets to 2 for the Rio de Janeiro Red-Blacks!
