Sesc RJ Flamengo was defeated by Flor de Ypê Paulistano Barueri, this Monday (20.01), at Maracanãzinho, in the third round of the return leg of the Women's Superliga, in a match decided in the tie-break: 25-21, 24-26, 25-23, 22-25 and 13-15. With the point added, Rubro-Negro remained in fifth place, with 30 points.
The home team started the match well, cheered on by the crowd, but their performance dropped off, especially in the deciding set. Outside hitter and captain Michelle and opposite hitter Edinara were Sesc RJ Flamengo's top scorers, with 21 hits. Middle blocker Juju, who left the court with 14 hits and a 60% attack success rate, believes they need to learn from the negative result.
"We made a lot of mistakes. Barueri is a slightly younger team, and we could have used some situations to our advantage. But we ended up making more mistakes than them, who played a good game in the end. Now, we have to learn from this for the next game, so we can win again and achieve our goals," said Juju.
Sesc RJ Flamengo's next challenge will take place on Sunday (26.01), against Pinheiros, at 19:30 pm, in São Paulo.
