Sesc RJ Flamengo took second place in the Campeonato Carioca after being beaten by Fluminense by 3 sets to 0, with scores of 25-19, 25-23 and 25-21, on Monday night (14.10), at the CSN Employees' Club, in Volta Redonda. The Rubro-Negro's focus now is the Superliga, the main objective of the season.
With many errors throughout the match, coach Bernardinho's team was unable to put pressure on Tricolor in the decisive duel of the state and now focuses on continuing to work hard for the big challenges that lie ahead.
"We knew it would be a tough game. Fluminense has a lot of momentum, and we couldn't get our rhythm going. Our game didn't click. It was an unlucky night for us in every aspect. We couldn't put into practice what we'd been training. We lacked momentum, being more aggressive, and knocking down the ball. Fluminense capitalized on every opportunity. But it's the beginning of the season, and we have a lot ahead of us," analyzed wing spiker and captain Michelle.
Sesc RJ Flamengo's debut in the Superliga takes place next Monday (21.10), at 18:30 pm, against Brasília, in Taguatinga (DF).
