Sesc RJ Flamengo was defeated by Fluminense on Wednesday night (09.10), in a preview of the final of the Campeonato Carioca. Coach Bernardinho's team was winning 2-0, but allowed the tricolor to come back: 3-2 (25-22, 25-21, 17-25, 20-25 and 9-15), at Tijuca Tênis Clube. The teams will meet again on Monday (14.10), at 19 pm, at Clube dos Funcionários de Volta Redonda, with broadcast by SporTV 2 and home court of the Federação Carioca, worth the cup.
Still looking for adjustments and synergy for the season, Rubro-Negro knows they will need to minimize errors and be more effective on the counterattack to win the title.
"We have five days to train, come back stronger on Monday, and fight for the Carioca title. We were too inconsistent, wasted too many counterattacks, and didn't find our feet on the court in the final three sets. But it's the start of the season, and we have a new chance to do things differently," said outside hitter and captain Michelle.
Sesc RJ Flamengo is looking for its 20th Campeonato Carioca title.
